The third iteration of Google’s igniteCS program required us to cut funding and rethink our high-touch approach. My needs analysis led me to design a Welcome Kit that new and returning programs would receive in the mail. The kit included resources for kicking off the first volunteer meeting, guides for how to design and evaluate lesson plans, and other resources.

I gathered a focus group of 15 veteran participants who offered positive feedback on the Kit:
* 71% strongly agreed that the Kit contents would have helped save time by providing materials and ideas for organizing their program.
* 14 out of 15 said it made them feel more connected to and supported by Google.
